My favorites are the white/red selbuvotter I knit a couple of years ago, but I wear my grey and red pair more since they don't show dirt.

A Jen giveaway, whoa! My favorite mittens are the pair of tweedy mittens I made for myself and then lost one in the snow. Sadness!

Hey, I think I should get a prize for being one of your most frequent commenters:) I love my Maine Mitts (fingerless) with Noro Silk Garden from the Knitters Book of Yarn.

Gosh, tough choice! I think though that my favorite mitten pattern that I've *finished* has been Breathe Deep by Kristin Kapur. I chose a poor color for them so I need to make a new pair to match my coat!

(and I'm Beeca on raverly, btw)

I have knit one pair of mittens, which I wear all the time. Red with cables.

And I have followed your blog.

Several years ago I knit a pair of purple and white mittens with kitten faces on the fingers for one of my siblings. They still make me smile when I see them, though they've passed down a few hands as the original sister outgrew them.

Right now I'm knitting a pair of convertible mitts with a hand-painted red/purple/orange yarn that could very well turn out to be my favorites.

I haven't knit mittens yet but I am looking forward to making owl mittens for my youngest dd.

I made my first pair of mittens in the fall -- fingerless, but mitts nonetheless! I picked a pattern with rather complicated cables which ended up not being that fun to knit, but I do love wearing them now that they're done!

My favorite mittens are the Bella mittens I knit out of dark red lamb's pride bulky. So cozy!

My favorite mittens are a tie between my Felted (Fulled) Mittens and the Fittin' Mittens that go inside of the felted ones. Both pairs of mittens are super simple and from patterns by Nancy Lindberg. They are total workhorses in our Minnesota climate. I have been meaning to tackle some more complicated patterns for the sake of a challenge, but will probably still wear these plain ones every day in the winter.

I just added you to the links on my blog so I can follow you there instead of through Ravelry! (still have not embraced the RSS/google reader thing)

My favorite mittens are the only ones I've made for myself so far. They were just a very basic mitten pattern knitted in my favorite colors: pink and brown. It was the first thing I had ever knit specifically for me, and they are super warm.

Thanks for the chance to win!

i have not yet made mittens, but am plotting a takeoff of the "dimorphous mittens" pattern for the not-so-distant future....
my favorite pair of MITTS/wristies/fingerless mittens, however, are a pair i designed myself with colorwork patterning and corrugated ribbing, with noro silk garden lite, and a black.....the black really makes the noro colors pop!!

My favorites are the ones on the cover of the book, squishy and soft and a great present!

I've only ever knit one mitten - not even a pair. It was the very first knitting project I ever did - my mother used the mitten pattern to teach me how to knit. Some 30 years later, here I am. I think it's about time I make a full pair. How better to go at it than with this awesome mitten pattern book!

I've only knit one pair, just plain stockinette fingerless mitts, but I really like them. :)

Kelly said...

I've only knit one pair! Well - two, but they were from the exact same pattern. So... they're both my favorite! :)

Sarah said...

I've knit fingerless gloves, does that count? My favorite pair I think are the ones I did for my sister - the cabled pattern was meant for a sock leg but I woke up one morning, looked at it, and I could see them as gloves more then socks. My only problem with the pair is the yarn I used, some sort of acrylic (which I don't usually mind) that has a really bad tendency to pill! Oh,well, my sister is only seven, she doesn't mind!

My favorite mittens were knitted years ago with worsted weight yarn scraps. They are colorful and warm. I love to make mittens because they are a small project that you can work on just about anywhere.

Melissa Zeffer said...

I'm fairly knew to knitting so I've only ever made Plait Cable Mittens. I am always looking for new projects. I think for the next pair I make I will use warmer materials. Thank you so much for the opportunity! I hope all is well!

My favorite mittens are a pair I made long ago. They are made from Peace Fleece and each time they are washed (or worn out in the snow), they get even softer. They keep my hands so nice and warm too.

I've made ONE mitten and I didn't really like how it came out, so it's sitting lonely somewhere with the ends hanging out... but I've knit NUMEROUS pairs of fingerless mitts and those seem to go well with my friends!

I made a pair of fingerless fairisle gloves of my own design, but would like to make a regular pair of gloves one of these days, and I'd like to try making a pair of thrummed mittens. I'm not living in the US, but have a US mailing address you can mail to.
